As a former Olympic level athlete, and current physiotherapist and pilates instructor, movement has always been an integral part of my life.
I was a gymnast for the first two thirds of my life, and was fortunate to have competed in two Olympic Games (Sydney 2000, and Athens 2004) during this time. An appreciation for physiotherapy during my athletic career led me to pursue it in my professional career, and so I have been working as a physiotherapist in the orthopaedic and sports realm for the past 8 years. The pilates method really resonated with my approach to rehabilitation, and so I pursued rehab-specific training in the Stott method, as well as a Classical pilates diploma from the Embody School of Pilates in Canmore.
Since moving to Fernie in 2017, I am constantly inspired by the opportunities that our wonderful mountain setting presents, and by the enthusiasm with which they are seized by Fernie’s residents. My hope is that by combining the pilates method with therapeutic principles, I can help you to feel empowered by moving better. Whether you are recovering from injury, suffering from a chronic condition or simply want to improve your ability to do what you love to do, I look forward to having the opportunity to help you live your best Mountain Life!
